This paper deals with the study of the archaeological remains of charcoal to further understand the usage and handling of fire by human hunter-gatherer groups who inhabited, over time, the Ongamira valley, located in the Ischilín and Totoral provinces of Cordoba, Argentina. The development of this research is part of the archaeological project " Arqueología de grupos cazadores-recolectores de las Sierras Pampeanas Australes" (PICT 2122-2011) by Dr. Roxana Cattaneo and Dr. Andrés Izeta. The same, based in the IDACOR-CONICET / Museum of Anthropology (FFyH-UNC) proposes the study of hunter-gatherer societies in the northern part of the Sierras Chicas, in order to contribute to the construction of an anthropological model of human occupation within the territory.
